when I saw deforested area Amazon a few decade ago, I instinctively felt very sad. Rain forest is most important for human being. when we breathe we intake oxygen and emit carbon. Forest intake carbon and emit oxygen.
Father more eyeopening, it is said half of wildlife disappeared in the last 40 years. It took long time to form now existing ecosystem. humans destroy them only in a minute. Wildlife, forest and humans are mutually dependent and poised. Once balance was disrupted, no more they can be retrieved. pride goes before destruction!
Anyway idioms last time: A miss is as good as a mile. Now we live in the digital age and it can understand only on and off. When you make it's copy to CD or DVD, no more you can say them copy. All are original. If a error, cause fatal error.
Similar in format but different meanings: A change is as good as a rest. A nod is as good as a wink to blind horse.
Next! Ian's turn! Give him enough _____, and he will ____ himself. Preaching choir? no! just a practice.
Damn! Of course it’s a title! “People Make the World Go Round” “Go underground, young men” —Does the song encourage us to take action? It’s such a cool, languid song. So, sounds like it’s cynically saying “there’s nothing I can do.” Please explain what the message is. Stand up or give up?
Thank you for your analysis, Yuki. Many great songs are ambiguous. You can take it whichever way you feel it. Positive or negative, perhaps cynical or idealistic?
Here are the lyrics to ponder...
Trash men didn't get my trash today Oh, why Because they want more pay Buses on strike want a raise in fare So they can help pollute the air But that's what makes the world go 'round The up and down, the carousel Changing people, they'll go around Go underground, young man People make the world go 'round Wall Street losing dough on every share They're blaming it on longer hair Big men smoking in their easy chairs On a fat cigar without a care But that's what makes the world go 'round The up and down, the carousel Changing people, they'll go around Go underground, young man People make the world go 'round But that's what makes the world go 'round The up and down, the carousel Changing people, they'll go around Go underground, young man People make the world go 'round
Hmm, so it’s ambiguous to you too. Thanks for posting the lyrics. I love the lyrics, the music and the vocal. It’s super cool👍 Please play it during the news quiz in the next lesson!

Well, you've been busy, Shoji.
DeleteGood ecological awareness.
A miss is as good as a mile?
In other words, losing 1-0 or 50-0,
it doesn't matter. To lose is to lose!?
Can't you say, 'This is an original copy!' ?
Yes, a change is always as good as a rest!
And finally, Always practice what you preach!
Damn! Of course it’s a title! “People Make the World Go Round”

Trash men didn't get my trash today
Oh, why
Because they want more pay
Buses on strike want a raise in fare
So they can help pollute the air
But that's what makes the world go 'round
The up and down, the carousel
Changing people, they'll go around
Go underground, young man
People make the world go 'round
Wall Street losing dough on every share
They're blaming it on longer hair
Big men smoking in their easy chairs
On a fat cigar without a care
But that's what makes the world go 'round
The up and down, the carousel
Changing people, they'll go around
Go underground, young man
People make the world go 'round
But that's what makes the world go 'round
The up and down, the carousel
Changing people, they'll go around
Go underground, young man
People make the world go 'round
Hmm, so it’s ambiguous to you too.
