The 70-year-old Ugandan woman stunned me with her strength and resilience!! She was abondoned by her partner, but didn't give up the twins, apparently because she wanted someone to take care of her when she grew old.
Some people in Japan fear having children beacuse of parental responsibilities. If they focus more on filial duty (=the bright side of being a parent!) like the Ugandan mom, birth rate in Japan would increase!!
Actually, I just checked some data: The cost of raising a child in Tokyo from birth to college graduation ranges from 28.5 million yen to 63 million yen, according to AIU Insurance Co.. However, I just noticed that the data was from 2001. So it must be pretty high by now!? Having said that, this data from 2020 seems to make the same conclusion: HERE
Fifteen minutes to the green: I don't want to live in a place like this. Fixed property tax seems high. If your neighbors are too close, you will feel oppressed, which is bad for your mental and physical health.
When I was young, I grew up in a shabby house where rain leaks in the countryside with mountains and rivers. Instead, green was enough so I could always play in the forests.
I'm not interested in living in a luxury residential area with everything.
I often saw bubling domestic wastewater (probably?) was draining to streams. Such places are getting fewer, but, I feel guilty of being a human. So, I think we don't have to drink it, but, recycling wastewater is a nice idea. It is pitty to see a kingfisher flys along not so clean streams.
Mullet makes me a resemblance a recent two-block hairstyle in Japanese trend, which has long hair on top and hair cut short in the back and sides. In either case, it's enjoyable at this moment. A fashion trend included a hairstyle is considered a relic of the old days, made a comeback.
Thanks to you in the busy end of the year!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll take a momentary break during these days!
You're welcome. Hope everyone has enjoyed some of this year's stories.
ReplyDeleteMy mind is already on vacation! But another week of work awaits.
Never mind breaking news, I need a break from the news!!

I hope the Ugandan woman can live long enough to enjoy care from her kids!!
DeleteShe seems strong & healthy enough now, at least.
In Japan's case, I think the rising costs of living are the real reason
most decide not to have kids. Who can afford it?

ReplyDeleteI mean, that recycle system can used in not only a building, but, community unit, as I understand.

It repeats the past into the future.
